The Cape Academy, together with Steenberg and Fairmount High Schools, are in a "bridge program" with schools from Uganda and Scotland. This program has been funded by the British Council.
Goals of the Bridge Partnership:
From 19 March - 27 March 2009 two of our educators ( Mr Meyer and Magerman) visited the Ugandan partnership schools in Kampala. What transpired from the visit was the following - the way forward :
Goals of the Bridge Partnership:
- Foster Pan-African relations - Africa does not consist of only SA and its values, culture, etc.
- Breaking down stereotyping - as displayed in xenophobic attacks in SA in 2008 - in both South Africans and Ugandans.
- Sharing of educational experiences, philosophies and resources amongst educators and learners

- Strengthening of ties through continued communication
- Sharing of resources
- Continuation of the project so that more learners can be involved
- Sustainability of the programme through common projects
