The isiXhosa Department consists of 94 learners which is 35% of the total student population. This Department consists of one highly skilled and motivated educator that sees to the needs of the learners and those of the school. In the past our isiXhosa learners have performed exceptionally well in the matric examinations. In the final exam of 2008 there was a 100% pass rate, with 11 A's, 6 B's and 2 C's, that total up to 19 learners. One of our learners was NATIONALLY ranked FIRST among all matriculants.
In February 2009 a grade 12 learner won a book for rendering a powerful poem when the isiXhosa bookclub was invited to participate in the International Mother Tongue Day held at the Centre for Conservation in Wynberg. The title of her poem: "ZINGCE NGOLWIMI LWAKHO" We continue to set high standards in order to prepare students for the "real world" as well as further tertiary training. |
